DESCRIPTION:The Primary Election will take place on Tuesday\, June 9\, 2026
 \, in the Gordon Emerson Auditorium at the Town Hall. Each party ballot wi
 ll be by ranked choice. Polls will be open 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM.\nSemi-Op
 en Primary: Maine law allows Unenrolled registered voters – those who h
 ave chosen not to enroll in a party – to select a party primary to vote 
 in without enrolling in that party.\n Unenrolled voters may only vote in o
 ne party’s primary.\n Voters enrolled in a party may only vote that part
 y’s primary ballot. Enrolled voters do not have the option to select ano
 ther party’s ballot unless they change enrollment at least 15 days prior
  to the primary (May 26\, 2026\, is the deadline for the 2026 Primary Elec
 tion).  Keep in mind\, when a voter enrolls in a new party\, they may not
  change their party enrollment again for three months unless they move to 
 a new municipality and establish a new voting residence there.\nThere are 
 no Green Independent candidates in Hancock County\, only Democrat and Repu
 blican candidates\; therefore\, only voters who are unenrolled or enrolled
  to these two parties may vote in the Primary.
