The Fire Department and Peninsula Ambulance Corps will hold an open house for the public to visit the proposed location of the new Public Safety Building and to review the plans to date for adjusting the interior of the existing building and the construction of an apparatus bay behind the existing building.
By way of update, Sen. Collins has supported our request for $3.4 million of “congresstionally directed spending” to support the construction of the facility. The town is hopeful that the request will be recommended by the Appropriations Committee for inclusion in Federal budget legislation. Regardless, the Town likely will not know if the grant funds will be awarded and available until 2027.
