Blaze Public Hearing Tabled

The Select Board is tabling a public hearing scheduled for its meeting on Monday, August 10 at 5:45pm to receive public feedback on a proposed administrative consent agreement between the Town of Blue Hill and Pub Ciao, LLC (d/b/a Blaze Blue Hill), which was prepared to address various violations of town ordinances on the property at 66 Main Street.

The Blue Hill Select Board is responsible for enforcing the Town’s land use ordinances by either directing the town attorney to take judicial enforcement action against a violator or by entering into a settlement agreement with the violator to resolve the violation.  In this role, the Select Board must vote on a mutually agreed upon settlement agreement, and may accept public comment on the terms of the settlement. This is not a forum to discuss the future of the town’s village area, the merits of a downtown business, or any topic beyond the settlement terms.

Over the weekend, it became apparent that there is not full agreement on the terms of a settlement between Blaze Blue Hill and the Town. Accordingly, the Select Board’s review and consideration of any mutually-agreed-to settlement agreement will be tabled to a future date.
