General Assistance

The Town of Blue Hill offers assistance to low-income residents in accordance with state law.

General Assistance Notice

This application must be completed and signed in order to qualify for assistance. First time applicants must bring the following documentation upon submitting their application.

  • Photo ID for all members of the household
  • Pay stubs
  • Social security numbers for all members of the household
  • Proof of type of assistance requested.
    • Eviction notice
    • Disconnection Notice (electricity, heat)
    • Past due notice

Please call the Town Office if you are a repeat applicant (applying within 30 days of receiving assistance) as additional documentation is required.

Misuse of Information: Misuse of any information relating to an applicant or recipient is a punishable offense (22 M.R.S §42(2)

2023-2024 Hancock County Maximums.

The Select Board will hold a public hearing to review and adopt the yearly maximums on or before September 30, 2024.
