Primary Election Tomorrow, 6/9

The state Primary Election will take place tomorrow, June 9, in the Gordon Emerson Auditorium above the Town Office. The polls will be open between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM. The side door by the parking lot offers a wheelchair-accessible route to the polls. We will have a wheelchair-accessible voting booth and an ExpressVote machine set up for voters with visual impairments (or anyone else who would like to use it).

Please note that only enrolled Democrats, enrolled Republicans, and unenrolled voters are eligible to cast a ballot in this primary. Voters enrolled in third parties (Green Independent, Libertarian, etc.) cannot vote in this primary but will be able to vote in the general election in November. The Registrar of Voters will be present as usual to register new voters and update existing registrations, but due to the 15-day waiting period, it is too late to change your party enrollment for this primary.

Any outstanding absentee ballots must be received by the clerk by 8:00 PM to be counted; they may be brought into the polling place in person or dropped in the secure ballot drop box by the side door. Please do not drop them in the small black tax/sewer payment drop box by the front door – we will not check it before close of polls!

We are pleased to announce that the Town Office will be open in a limited capacity during our normal hours (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM). Please note that there will only be one clerk on staff; our priority is to serve residents with limited mobility so that they can consolidate trips to Town Hall, and if you bring a long or complicated transaction, we reserve the right to ask you to come back on a day when we are fully staffed. The Town Office will also be sporadically closed throughout the day when that clerk needs meal or bathroom breaks.
