PUBLIC HEARING: GSA & Warrant Review

Reminder: There will a public hearing to discuss the GSA Excess Tuition request on Thusday, March 26 in the Gordon Emerson Auditorium at the Blue Hill Town Hall. The hearing will begin at 6:00pm.

All items to be considered by a referendum vote (such as the GSA request) must be preceded by a public hearing to allow voters to debate the pros and cons of the question.

After the public hearing, the Select Board, School Committee/Superintendent, and Budget Committee will review a summary of the budget articles in this year’s warrant, together with the potential property tax implications of the Town’s voting. This is intended as an opportunity to better understand the budget and to prepare for Town Meeting.

For members of the public interested in reviewing more detailed budgets, the municipal budget is available here and the school budget is available here.

2026 Annual Town Meeting Materials

The warrant for the 2026 Annual Town Meeting has been posted (a copy is available here), and absentee ballots are available at the Town Office. Residents should note that the warrant can be amended until 7 days before Town Meeting; if such an amendment is made, it will be posted in the same physical locations and on the Town website.

In addition, the 2025 Annual Report for the Town has been printed and copies are also available at the Town Office.

2025 Budget Presentation

For those who could not attend Thursday’s information session on the 2025 budget, a copy of the PowerPoint presentation is now available. The presentation describes the major contributors to the overall budget and how the budget is proposed to be funded.

And the presentation provides an estimate of the 2025 property tax impact, assuming all of the “money” articles to be voted on at Town Meeting are approved: an 8.7% increase in property taxes.
