If you are seeking a larger vessel than your current one, you will likely need a new location and will be placed on the waiting list. Failure to go through the proper avenues will result in loss of mooring. Thank you for your cooperation.

Due to the forecast of inclement weather, the Town Office will be closed to the public on Monday, February 23. We expect that the office will be open for normal business hours on Tuesday.
Nomination papers for candidates looking to appear on the ballot for April’s Annual Town Meeting will be due back to the clerk’s office by close of business on Monday, February 2nd, by mail or hand delivery. They can be taken out in person during office hours, or by email; please email your name and the position you are seeking to townclerk@bluehillme.gov. There will be one seat available on the Select Board, two on the Planning Board, and three on the School Board.
Due to this morning’s weather, the Town Office will open for business at 10:00 am today. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience.

The Town of Blue Hill is seeking volunteers to serve on a committee to develop recommendations to the Select Board and Town of Blue Hill for building and property layout and design of the new public safety building at 30 Tenney Hill.
Specifically, the Select Board is looking for 3-4 committee members with demonstrated skills, experience or expertise in grant writing; historical architecture relevant to Blue Hill Village; responsible stewardship of natural resources; and/or project management and budgeting.

The South Blue Hill Wharf may be partially closed this Thursday and Friday (September 25-26) for up to four hours to allow the dinghy “finger floats” to be relocated to accommodate a large barge’s access to the boat launch area. Although the wharf will be available during these times for use by the public, there may be increased traffic and ramp utilization during these times (details below).
Continue reading “Partial Closure: South Blue Hill Wharf”A public engagement meeting was held on Tuesday, September 16 to review conceptual designs for protecting Blue Hill’s town wharves from sea level rise and damage from increased storm intensity. Roughly 20 Blue Hill residents, including ~8 commercial fishermen, attended.
Attached is the presentation, prepared by GEI Consultants, that was reviewed as part of the meeting; a document describing some of the audience questions, comments, and discussion is in the process of being prepared and will be posted at a later date.
There will be a public meeting to review conceptual designs for providing long-term protection of Blue Hill’s Village and South Blue Hill wharves against damage from increased storm intensity and for enhanced access for commercial fishermen and recreational users.
This is the Town’s opportunity to understand the alternatives for this potential project and to comment on design, timing, and next steps for the town’s future investment in the wharves. The work reviewed in this meeting will likely guide the Town’s investment in its wharves over the next decade–an investment that could represent several million dollars. So taxpayers are encouraged to educate themselves, regardless of whether they use the wharves.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 16 at 6:00pm in the Town Hall Auditorium. Presenting their research and designs will be GEI Consultants, a Portland-based engineering firm retained to help the town assess the risks to our waterfront infrastructure and to apply their expertise to assisting the town in evaluating strategies for protection of these assets.
