Continue reading “Full-time Public Works Opportunity”The public hearing for amendments to the Blue HIll Traffic Ordinance, originally scheduled for August 19, has been postponed (to provide more time to refine the proposed draft ordinance). No new date has been identified.
The public will receive at least seven days’ advance notice of the hearing, when it is scheduled, via the Town website and physical notices at the Town Hall and Hannaford’s. Copies of the draft ordinance also will be available at that time.
The Select Board is considering amending the Blue Hill Traffic Ordinance and will hold a public hearing to receive public comment on a proposal to repeal and replace the Blue Hill Traffic Ordinance, including designated “no parking” areas, crosswalks, traffic control signage, making Mill St. one-way and other changes.
The Select Board will hold a public hearing at its regular meeting on August 19 at 5:30pm.
The Select Board will meet at 8am Friday, June 14, to review and sign the warrant for a Special Town Meeting to be held on Monday, June 24. The warrant detailing the articles to be voted on should be posted on Friday.
The meeting will be in person only, with no remote participation available.
At last Monday’s Select Board meeting, the Select Board indicated that it would try to make available, in an accessible format, more information about the 2024 property revaluation.
Attached is an Excel worksheet with comparative data, for each property in Blue Hill (identified by Map and Lot number). It shows the 2023 and 2024 taxable property valuations as well as an estimate of what the 2024 taxes on each property will be.
At its meeting on May 28th, 2024, the Select Board adopted a set of rules and regulations to apply to the Town’s three cemeteries. The rules govern the sale of rights to use lots in the cemeteries, maintenance responsibilities, monument specifications, decorations, and visitor use, among other things.

The Town of Blue Hill is soliciting bids for surplus floats previously used at the Village Wharf. Five floats are available for purchase—three floats approximately 16’x14′ and two 16’x6′ finger floats. The floats will be sold (individually) as is, where is, with no minimum bid.
The deadline for sealed bids is Monday, June 3 at 5:00pm at the Town Office; the bids will be opened at the Select Board’s public meeting scheduled to begin at 5:30pm that evening.
