New Town Meeting Warrant

An amended Warrant for the Special Town Meeting to be held on Election Day, November 4, 2025 was approved and signed by the Select Board this evening. The warrant adds two articles, one for the potential enactment of a moratorium ordinance on cannabis establishments and a second to appropriate funds for certain municipal expenditures that were not anticipated in the 2025 annual budget. These articles will be considered in an open Town Meeting to be held immediately after the election of a moderator.

A copy of the amended warrant is available here; together with the attached moratorium ordinance.

Public Hearing Reminder

In advance of the November 4th election and Special Town Meeting, a public hearing will be held on Wednesday, October 22 in the Gordon Emerson Auditorium at the Blue Hill Town Hall.

The hearing will provide an opportunity for the public to speak in favor of, or against, the two questions to be put to Blue Hill voters:

  • Do you favor the establishment of and the town’s participation in the Toddy Pond Watershed Management District and the appropriation of $780 to provide the town’s share of the estimated budget for the first year of operation of the Toddy Pond Watershed Management District?
  • To see if the Town of Blue Hill will vote to opt-in to permit the operation of licensed Adult-Use Marijuana Stores (also known as retail marijuana stores) within the town, pursuant to Title 28-B of the Maine Revised Statutes, and further to direct the Blue Hill Select Board to develop a municipal ordinance for the regulation and local licensing of such stores, said ordinance to be presented for voter approval at a future Town Meeting.

A link for remote participation via Teams has been posted on the Town website calendar.
