The Select Board will meet at 9:30am on Friday, August 15 to review and issue a warrant calling a Special Town Meeting.
With the proposed acquisition of the properties at 30 Tenney Hill (the GSA Hinckley Dorm property) and in the vicinity of the Blue Hill Consolidated School approaching a Town vote, the Town has published a website with

The Select Board and Fire Department plan to hold an informational meeting on Thursday, August 21 at 6:30pm in the Gordon Emerson Auditorium at the Blue Hill Town Hall.
This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to ask questions about the proposed relocation and to probe further into the materials posted on the micro-site.
The Select Board expects to hold a Special Town Meeting to consider and vote on the proposal on Sunday, August 24 at 5:00pm, but the warrant calling that meeting has not yet been issued.
The draft agenda for today’s Select Board meeting is available here.
Among other things, the Select Board will be soliciting feedback on the proposed Town Hall sign policy and will conduct a hearing for a Special Amusement permit requested by the owners of Barncastle.
During its last two Monday meetings, the Select Board has discussed the adoption of a new policy governing the placement of signs on Town Hall property. As noted during those meetings, the Town has been operating under a 1999 memorandum appearing to prohibit temporary signs on the property, but this “policy” was not clearly in effect and was not well defined.
Attached is a draft policy governing signs on the property, which has been reviewed by the Town Attorney and, in general, is not intended to modify the existing understanding. But it is more specific, and reflects the reality of recent practice, so it does represent a change.
As you will note, there are still some blanks in the policy, and certain elements are still being discussed amongst the Select Board members. So the ultimate policy adopted (if any) will reflect those discussions, completion of the missing information, and feedback from the public before and during the July 28 Select Board meeting.
Interested parties are welcome to provide their comments in person at the July 28 Select Board meeting or via email to selectboard@bluehillme.gov prior to that meeting.
