What is a DBA (or “Doing Business As”)?
A DBA is a registered name that a business/individual uses to operate a business under a name that is not its legal name. Unlike LLCs and corporations which default to a company name, sole proprietors and general partnerships default to the business owner’s personal name.
In Maine, sole proprietors and partnerships register DBAs with the clerk’s office in the town they do business in.
For those who were unable to attend last week’s Public Input meeting with respect to the proposed abandonment of Toddy Pond Dam, attached is a video of the event.
The Town is not responsible for immediately clearing snow and/or ice from the sidewalks following a storm. Home and business owners should help keep the sidewalks in front of their own property entrance clear. Any Blue Hill resident or business owner is welcome to a five gallon bucket of salt/sand at the town sand shed.

Blue Hill Comprehensive Plan Presentation, Tuesday February 18 at Consolidated School
The Blue Hill Comprehensive Plan, which will go on the ballot of the April 4 Town Meeting, is being presented at a community information session this Tuesday, February 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Blue Hill Consolidated School.
Plan Committee members will provide an overview of the goals of the plan, with a question & answer session. This is the first information session before the Town Meeting, with a second to be held in the same place on Thursday, March 20th.
